Cubism and pandiatonicism

Inspiration comes from multiple sources, but for me, its usually something I have seen. I recently went to an exhibition where I came across the works of Albert Gleizes. Interestingly after spending about 5 minutes, I realised it was possible to translate the picture directly into a string quartet composition. That said, unlike my traditional compositions which are strongly rooted in melodic construction, I have decided to park this style and explore strongly dissonant form and introduce displacements in metre. Thus tonality is transformed and the structure may look sound familiar, but its……cubist!
