What our ears get used to is no different to what our palate gets used as we grow up. I remember listening to the Raga’s, since I was 4. However, I had no appreciation of the exotic music at the time. Now many years on, I could happily listen to a sitar raga and not be overly disturbed by it.
I believe Raga’s are another form of Carnatic music, though instrumental and in my opinion an Indian version of blues.
