Sounds from the bazaar – a new kind of violin concerto

Before I started work on my violin concerto,
Sounds from the bazaar, iTunes (US), I had absolutely no idea I would ever write such a piece.

It all began after I watched Master and Commander….the scene where Paul Bettany
and Russell Crowe play a violin/cello duet.  I researched the piece and found out that it was Boccherini’s Passacaglia…LA MUSICA NOTTURNA DELLE STRADE DI MADRID.
I was fascinated by the way Boccherinni  used Pizzicato on violin Youtube .I wanted to create a slightly different effect to that used in traditional Classical repertoire by blending the sounds of Indian Ragas with Classical.
